Sight words can be fun to play with games in the classroom! This engaging, fun game can be played in your small groups or guided reading groups. Through this activity, students build confidence and master their sight words.
Pop The Balloon! is a fun and engaging game that is the perfect way to begin your guided reading groups! To play, give each child a card and listen to them as they start at the bottom and work their way to the top to “pop” the balloon! It’s a great way to assess if your students know their sight words. I like to spend up to 5 minutes of the beginning of my reading groups reviewing with these cards as a warm-up before beginning the guided reading lesson.
