Description
Using consistent writing centers is important for young students so they can develop a routine, spiral their writing review, and know what to do each month when the station changes. Students enjoy these writing centers because they offer choice with fun, seasonal themes.
Aligns to CCSS:
These writing centers are aligned to the Common Core State Standards. Students can continue to practice their writing skills in this center and are still practicing the standards as well. They are continuously exposed and reintroduced to these types of writing pieces.
Gives Choice & Routine:
Students get to choose from the different writing genres. Each month, the writing genres are the same but the topics change. So, no more explaining directions on what students will be writing about! They will know since it doesn’t change every month.
Do you run out of time for writing every day?
I know that writing is difficult for me to fit into the school day, so this was a great solution to that problem! If we ran out of time for writing, I felt better knowing that my students received writing time in their writing station.
