Fall is here! I love doing anything related to fall in the classroom so I thought it would be fun to round up my favorites! Here are 5 fall activities for first grade!
Fall Main Idea Reading Passages
These reading passages are a great way for students to practice identifying the main idea and supporting details for a short passage. The passages include fiction and non-fiction and are all tied to the theme of fall.
Punctuation Scoot Game
This game is a great way to practice putting punctuation at the end of a sentence during November. The turkey gobbled up all the punctuation and your students must find it all! Students love going around the room to find the sentences with the missing punctuation. Check out the full blog post here.
Fall Color By Code
This fall color by code provides a fun way for students to practice multiple skills. The color by code includes: short vowels, digraphs, addition within 5, addition within 10, addition within 20, subtraction within 10, subtraction within 20, ten frames, twenty frames, and subitizing with dice, and sight words.
Digital Math Centers
Fall-themed Digital Math Centers are an engaging way for student to practice addition and subtraction, number sense, making ten, and fact families. This can be used in Google Slides and students love the drag and drop feature and the fun fall theme.
Free Number Sense Dice Games
Number Sense Dice Games are independent math games students can play alone at their desks or somewhere in the classroom. Students practice making ten, addition to ten and twenty, three addends, and more!
