Wow! What a week, am I right? I’ll admit; I’ve had a really difficult time getting back into the blogging world. It’s hard to keep up with everything! However, I like to link up with Kacey from Doodle Bugs Teaching for her Five For Friday linky party… Even if it’s a Saturday.
I’m actually writing this completely out of order, but I have to show you why this blog post is coming to you on a Saturday, rather than a Friday! Our school carnival was last night. My best friend and I ran the silly string booth and then the obstacle course after. The silly string booth is pretty fun, people. We also got silly stringed by some kids, which was not in the job description, but hey it’s okay! They had fun and we had fun. Also, my bestie and I didn’t really silly string one another. Okay, I sneak-attacked her at the end…
This week was a week full of character. I didn’t snap many pictures, but here are my firsties completing a main character flip book that you can find from my It’s All About Character Pack! I am happy to say it is one of my most wishlisted items!
We read Lilly’s Purple Plastic Purse, discussed Lilly’s character traits, and then completed the flip books. They absolutely loved them!

My leader of the week gets to pick a stuffed animal to keep with him/her throughout the week. After all the kids left for the day, I spotted his little penguin friend was playing a balancing game! Haha, I just love it!
During our intervention time this week, I realized I had a student who needed additional help with sight words. So, I whipped up on-the-spot two second prep “game” to find a certain sight word and then circle it. He was the very first one to use our new little page protectors! These are one of the things that I asked for on my Donor’s Choose project, Reading Is The “Write” Thing To Do. We have $140 left and I really hope we can get the rest funded some I can get my class these, dry erase boards, and erasers so we can practice sight words, handwriting, writing, etc.
Lastly, this is completely not school-related, but I was looking at our little baby, Sadie, the other day. The girl has grown so much since we brought her home in March. I miss how little she used to be!
She is still only like 6 pounds, but goodness! Look at that sweet face on the left! I just love how small and tiny she used to be. And… How she would cuddle with me. Now, she is far too hyper to stay still when I want to cuddle, but at least she’ll still snuggle with me sometimes when she wants to.
Have a good weekend! I am off to figure out a blogging schedule! 🙂

Haha! I love that you had a silly string station, and I would TOTALLY want to run it and tag some kids. I just found your blog from the linky and am your newest follower. I love your blog title, and that character product is precious! I may have to wishlist it even though I work with older kids!

I love the plastic page protectors…I use them for centers too when recording sheets are not really necessary —i.e..I don't want the paper trail or want to grade them.
