I’m linking up again with Doodle Bug Teaching for her awesome Five For Friday weekly linky party. I hope everyone had a super week!
My week started like this:
Yea, boo. It all started with a stuffy nose back in December. But, a stuffy nose? Of course I let that go. I popped nasal decongestant. It didn’t work. I popped another nasal decongestant. It didn’t work. Then, I was feeling all sorts of dizzy and off balance. Let it go. I thought my vision was bad. Then, my eye was red (eek!) and I thought it was just my contacts. Let it go. Finally, last Sunday I had enough and went to the minute clinic. Umm… Sinus infection, ear infection, pink eye, and some allergies too? Geez! Talk about waiting ’til it’s bad! Anyway, I’m finally feeling like I’m on my way to decent health again!
I was excited to start my first book project with one of my guided reading groups. I pulled a book about the Statue of Liberty and they were so interested in this book! More so than I thought they would be! There’s so many great facts and vocabulary within this book. We started with a KWL chart.
Here’s just an example of how much they wrote. They already knew more than I realized, but they wanted to know so much! They really are so on their way to second grade!
Valentine’s Day!
I made these little cuties this week for today. I included four pieces of bubblegum. It matched my classroom theme and my firsties love them some bubblegum. Very fitting ๐
There were some amazing Valentine boxes in my room today! I wish I could include all the pictures, but that would be quite a few ๐ Here are some of my faves:
I absolutely adore the cupcakes! Those two sweet girls said that they made cupcakes so their boxes matched our classroom! So sweet! That first one has boas for the top and the last one’s base was with a flowerpot! A lot of my parents said they found their ideas on pinterest! Gotta love that pinterest!
And last, flowers from my honey!
Now, off to pick up our “Heart Breaker” pizza from Papa Murpheys!
Happy Valentine’s, everyone!
