When you use these exit tickets in your classroom, you’ll gain important data about your students and what they have learned about that reading standard. There are multiple tickets for each RL and RI Common Core Standard in first grade.

Take A Closer Look!

Each exit ticket has one question that pertains to the standard listed in the upper right corner. There are 4 exit tickets per page so you can print multiple assessments easily! These small “bite-size” assessments aren’t overwhelming for young students, but instead the perfect size! Many of the pages have short paragraphs or passages and then either a short answer or multiple choice question.

Why Should You Use Reading Exit Tickets?

These exit tickets are a great way to assess students. Other benefits include:

  • Consistent routine: Give to students at the end of a lesson before moving on to something else. This could be their “ticket out the door”.
  • Data collection: These assessments are an easy way to collect data to further your instruction.
  • Parent Teacher Conferences: Use for an example to show parents how students are doing.
  • Aligned to the Common Core State Standards: Every informative and literature reading standard is included.
